🚨 Sunderland man jailed after breaching restraining order just ONE DAY after release
A Sunderland man has been sent back to prison after turning up at his mother’s home in Monkwearmouth despite being banned from contacting her.
Phillip Anderson, 38, was jailed for 24 weeks after he visited the property on November 28, only a day after being released from custody.
Police were told he was banging on the window and appeared to be drunk, causing fear and distress to his parents, who have faced a decade of issues linked to his alcohol addiction. Anderson fled when he heard sirens but was arrested shortly afterwards at a relative’s home.
He admitted breaching the restraining order, which was imposed last year due to previous assaults and property damage.
Magistrates said Anderson makes his mother’s life “unbearable” when drunk and ruled that only an immediate custodial sentence was appropriate. He must also pay a £154 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
