A teenage boy has been found guilty of penetrating a horse in a field.
The boy cannot be named for legal reasons, but was spotted by a local.
The incident happened in Blyth, Northumberland.
He pleaded not guilty to outraging public decency and went on trial at North Tyneside Youth Court in North Shields. Following a trial on Monday, he was convicted of the charge.
The court heard that a woman who regularly checks on the horses with binoculars from her window spotted him.
On running outside to intervene, the young man fled.
However, the woman’s partner had also noticed the incident at this point. He intervened by running outside, getting in his vehicle and quickly blocking the teenager’s escape passage on his bike, catching him.
Police were then called and he was arrested. The boy had a “sticky liquid” on his arm, which had been inserted into the horse.
Having been found guilty, he is to be sentenced on May 15th.
