A Washington child sex offender is back behind bars after a third victim came forward to expose his crimes

A Washington child sex offender is back behind bars after another victim came forward to expose his crimes.

Adam Leddra, now 32, was previously jailed in 2014 for having sex with two underage girls. Now, after a third victim spoke out, he has been sentenced again this time to 33 months in prison.

Newcastle Crown Court heard how Leddra groomed, manipulated and sexually exploited another teenage girl at around the same time as his earlier offences. He admitted four child sex offences, including sexual activity with a child and causing a child to engage in sexual activity.

In a powerful victim impact statement, read aloud in court, the woman said facing Leddra again “sickened” her and described years of “emotional torture”. She said she now sees herself as a survivor, not a victim.

The judge said Leddra used “classic grooming behaviour” on a vulnerable girl and warned of the serious emotional and psychological damage he caused.

Despite defence claims that he had “changed” after finding religion, the court made clear he could not escape his past.
