Appeals for witnesses after pensioner assaulted in Wearmouth Bridge “Road Rage” Incident

There is an appeal for witnesses after a “road rage” incident on Wearmouth Bridge this afternoon reportedly seen a pensioner assaulted by another driver.

At 4.10pm this afternoon, there was an incident on Wearmouth Bridge which seen police reduce traffic, which led to a limiting of lanes.

Amidst this, there was a reported dispute between two drivers which seen a 67 year old pull over to discuss the issue with another driver, described in his 50s, on the left left of the Bridge (northbound).

It is then claimed that the man in his 50s assaulted the 67 year old man, before leaving the scene. The family are asking if there is any additional dashcam footage or CCTV catching this incident.
