Birmingham City VS Sunderland – Match Preview

Preview

The Black Cats travel down to St Andrews hoping they can go into the World Cup break on a high.

It will be Sunderland’s final game before their World Cup break will be cut short to play their game in hand against Millwall on the 3rd December.

Last time out, Sunderland lost to Cardiff 0-1 at the Stadium of Light in what was a below par performance by the Black Cats.

The Blues have only lost one of their last five games, as they currently sit in 10th, just 3 points away from.the play-offs.

In their last game they drew 2-2 against Swansea on Tuesday night, just 3 days ago, causing Birmingham manager John Eustace, to complain about the unfair advantage Sunderland have by not playing in midweek.

Sunderland will be looking to take full advantage of this.

With a victory, the Black Cats could move as high as 12th, just one point behind tonight’s opponents.

Blues striker, Scott Hogan already has 9 goals this season, so Sunderland will be hoping to keep their main threat out.

Niall Huggins is set to be in the squad for the first time since his lengthy injury he suffered last year.

Stewart, Gooch, Alese and Ballard are all set to return after the World Cup break.

Prediction

Birmingham 0-1 Sunderland
