We are over half way through the January transfer window and The Black Cats are yet to make a signing.
Most of the window has been overshadowed by Ross Stewart’s contract negotiations, and whether he is set to move on this month.
The positions that I believe we need to improve in are…
Although we have 2 decent left-backs in our ranks, Dennis Cirkin and Aji Alese have both had their injury problems this season, leaving us short in that position.
For a few seasons now, we have been short at right-back and we have been moving other players out there, for example, Luke O’Nien and Lynden Gooch.
Trai Hume looks to be a great player, but it will be good to give him some competition and back-up.
Following the exit of Ellis Simms, Ross Stewart is now our only senior striker.
Ross’s contract negotiations are up in the air at the moment and if we lose him, not only do we lose one of the best players in the league, we will have no strikers at all.
We need one striker to come in and support Stewart, like Simms did, then another as back-up incase one of them gets injured, or Stewart does eventually leave.
These are the positions that I think it is vital that we bring in, but who do you want to see come in?
