Do you recognise this man? Northumbria Police appeal after wallet stolen from Ashbrooke shop

Police have issued an image of a man they would like to trace after reports of a theft at a shop in Ashbrooke.

On Saturday, February 17, Northumbria Police received a report of theft at a Londis store on Belvedere Road in Ashbrooke.

It was reported that a man had entered the store, made a purchase, then picked up a wallet that had mistakenly been left on the counter at the checkout at around 10.37am.

The wallet contained around £160 cash, a valuable ring, and some personal sentimental photographs. When the incident was reported to police, they launched an investigation.

Today (Tuesday, February 27), officers have released an image of a man who they would like to speak to in connection with the report.

Police ask that the man, or anyone who recognises them, contacts Northumbria Police through the ‘Report’ page of their website, or by calling 101 and quoting crime number 019173J/24.
