Do you recognise this man? Police appeal after man gets part of ear bitten off in incident

Police are making a public appeal after a man had ‘part of his ear bitten off’ during a night out in Newcastle.

Northumbria Police officers released an image of a man they’re seeking to speak to following the alleged incident, which is understood to have taken place at around 1.30am on Sunday, September 17 at the Grainger Market.

The police said the force received a report that a man had attempted to intervene in a dispute between another man and a woman.

The man pictured in the image released by the police is understood to have been in the area at the time of the alleged assault – and officers are keen to speak with him. The man, or anyone who knows who he is, should use the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of the Northumbria Police website or call 101, quoting crime reference number 116667R/23.
