European Bar Guide visits The Dun Cow in Sunderland, describes it as a “North East Jewel” putting “London pubs to shame”.

A well known pub blogger and reviewer who travels all over Europe paid a visit to the Dun Cow Pub in Sunderland and described it as an “absolute beauty”
The blogger, known as the “European Bar Guide” has visited thousands of bars all across the continent and compiled a vast directory on his website.
On March 26th, he came to Wearside and popped into the Dun Cow. He quickly remarked on twitter that the bar was stunning and put London pubs “to shame”:
On his website, he then gave the following review of the pub:
“One of the North East’s jewels, this building is itself one of Sunderland’s finest, inside a heritage pub preserved from the Edwardian era with a flamboyance to the wood detailing that catches the eye. Inside it isn’t a museum but a relevant thriving city centre institution with a large array of cask and keg ales from the most old fashioned around to the most in vogue. Meals and snack menu is similarly up to date and decent standard. Clearly a destination venue for any visitors to the city.“
During his trip to Wearside, the reviewer also visited the Ship ISIS and the Museum vaults.
