Ford Post Office set to move inside another shop

Ford Post Office, on Hylton Road is set to move to another store on the same street in a bid to maintain its service.

If approved, it will be housed inside a Premier convenience store following the appointment of a new operator.

The Post Office has started a period of public consultation which will last six weeks.

Feedback from locals who use the Ford Post Office has been requested.

The consultation will focus on how accessible the new location is, as well as whether any community issues could be affected by the move.

The Post Office said: “We will provide clear information on any changes to services, as well as access to and into the new branch.”

Public consultation started on 30 May and ends on 25 July, with a view to the move taking place between August and September.
