Free haircuts, skateboarding and support on offer at Hartlepool Men’s Day

A special event aimed at supporting men’s mental health is being held in Hartlepool this week — offering everything from skateboarding lessons to live music and free food.

Hartlepool Borough Council has teamed up with local organisations to host Hartlepool Men’s Day at Rovers Rugby Club, West View Road, on Wednesday 18 June from 4pm to 8pm.

The event features live entertainment from local duo Pek and Wanley, free haircuts, walking football, darts, wood-turning, skateboarding lessons, and prize competitions. Andy’s Man Club will also be on hand to offer mental health support and advice.

Organisers say the informal, activity-based setting helps men feel more comfortable opening up about their struggles.

“Men often find it hard to talk about what’s bothering them,” said a spokesperson. “But in environments like this shoulder to shoulder they’re far more likely to open up.”
