Gordon Ramsay’s Mansion Targeted in ‘Swatting’ Hoax

Police were called to celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s residence earlier this week after a false report claimed shots had been fired at the property.

Officers responded to the Bel Air home at approximately 8:40 PM on Tuesday following a call alleging an active shooter incident. Upon arrival, police quickly determined the report was a hoax and confirmed there was no threat.

Ramsay, 58, was not at home during the incident. The prank, known as “swatting,” involves making a fake emergency call to prompt a large-scale police response. Authorities in LA have launched an investigation, though no arrests have been made.

Ramsay joins a growing list of public figures targeted in swatting attacks, including Nicki Minaj, Tom Cruise, and Justin Bieber. The practice, which has also affected political figures, has previously led to tragic outcomes, including a fatal police shooting in Kansas in 2017.

Investigators are continuing to trace the source of the call.
