71 year old James Eggleston of Hallfield Close, Hall Farm, has been jailed over a series of historic offenses against at least 5 children which included “rape, attempted rape, two charges of indecent assault and two charges of indecency with a child”.
Eggleston committed the crimes starting from the 1970s, with his victims now being all adults. However, they have been traumatized for life by his actions, who now describe him as a “monster”.
In court, James maintained his innocence and accused his victims of “fabricating lies” in order to claim compensate. However, he was found guilty of all charges and ultimately sentenced to 17 years in prison.
He has also been made to sign the sex offenders register for life.
