Houghton Woman robbing Sunderland takeaways by snatching food at the door and refusing to pay

Several Sunderland takeaways have stated a Houghton woman has effectively robbed them by ordering food, taking it at the door and then slamming it on the drivers without paying.

Recently, several fish and chip shops, including Mariner’s in Grindon and Codland in Farringdon, posted photos of order receipts, amounting to £30 each, which were intended for an address at 47 Lime Avenue, Houghton-Le-Spring.

Both restaurants posted similar stories stating that on receiving the food, the woman slammed the door on the drivers, locked the premises and refused any further communication with the restaurant, leaving them out of pocket.

Given that the both photos of receipts show the same address and constitutes very strong evidence, SGM reserves the right to post it publicly as a matter of public interest under the justification of protecting local businesses from theft.

As such, Sunderland takeaways are now being warned not to deliver to this specific address and to blacklist it accordingly.
