Is Amad The Best Loan Signing Sunderland Have Ever Had?

Amad Diallo joined Sunderland on 31st August 2022, and he helped Sunderland somehow achieve a top 6 finish in the Championship, on just their first season back.
He scored multiple world-class goals, and he was involved in 18 goals in all competitions this season, scoring 14 and assisting 4.
Only Jack Clarke had more contribution this season (24).
In my opinion, there are 3 players that could rival Amad for our best ever loan signing.
- Yann M’Vila

M’Vila played for Sunderland during the 2016-16 season, and he was vital in keeping Sam Allardyce’s Sunderland in the Premier League.
The French midfielder scored 1 goal during his time with the Black Cats, which was a beautiful free-kick against Aston Villa in a 2-2 draw at Villa Park.
2. Jonny Evans

Jonny Evans joined Sunderland in January 2007 on loan from Manchester United.
He was a first-team regular in the second half of the season, and he played a huge part in Sunderland winning the Championship title.
Evans rejoined Sunderland in January 2008, and was thrown straight back into the mix to help Sunderland abroad relegation on their return to the top flight.
3. Fabio Borini

Although Borini’s permenant spell at the club wasn’t anything to shout about, his time on loan from Liverpool was.
In the 2013-14 season, he was Sunderland’s top scorer as they produced ‘The Greatest Escape’.
Although he only scored 10 goals in 40 games that season, each goal was of great importance.
A thunderbolt against The Mags, a goal in The League Cup semi-final and final, and he also scored in the game against West-Brom, which sealed Sunderland’s stay in the Premier League.
