About The Role

Action for Children is recruiting a permanent, full-time Residential Support Worker at Monksfield in Hexham.

The role involves supporting children with moderate to severe learning difficulties and complex health needs through their daily routines, personal care, play, learning and social activities. The successful candidate will help young people develop new skills, explore their interests and grow in confidence through meaningful experiences.

The position is hands-on and requires compassion, patience and emotional resilience. Responsibilities include completing risk assessments, contributing to care plans, advocating for children and working closely with families and other professionals.

The role offers varied working patterns across mornings, evenings and nights, together with weekly sleep-ins, so flexibility is essential.

A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification is required, or the successful applicant must be able to achieve the qualification within two years of starting.

The organisation offers more than seven weeks of paid leave, training and development opportunities, pension contributions of up to 5%, life assurance, flexible family leave packages and Blue Light Card eligibility.
