Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of a busy kitchen team
- Learn and develop skills across all aspects of kitchen operations
- Support catering for hotel, restaurant, golf and special events
- Maintain high standards in food preparation and service
- Work effectively in a busy kitchen environment
- Maintain good organisation and attention to detail
- Support sufficient stock levels and department organisation
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide excellent service to guests and members
Requirements
- Fine dining experience is ideally preferred
- Conference and banqueting experience is ideally preferred
- Passion for food and drink
- Good knowledge of food and drink
- Strong time-management skills
- Strong customer focus
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a busy kitchen environment
- Driving licence preferred
- Ability to reliably commute to or relocate to Newcastle upon Tyne NE15 0HT
About The Role
Close House Hotel & Golf is recruiting a Commis Chef, with both full-time and part-time opportunities available at Close House Estate in Newcastle upon Tyne.
The role offers a salary of up to £29,741 per year, alongside tips and a range of employee benefits. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to learn every aspect of working in a busy kitchen while developing their skills and building a career within the hospitality industry.
Close House highlights its experience in catering for large events, including hosting the British Masters in 2017 and 2020. The business offers training and development opportunities designed to help employees learn, progress and build their careers.
The successful candidate will ideally have fine dining and conference and banqueting experience and should be comfortable working in a busy kitchen environment. A strong knowledge and passion for food and drink, good time management, interpersonal skills and attention to detail are also sought.
