Key Responsibilities
- Prospect potential customers and generate new business opportunities
- Make outbound calls to businesses and identify customer needs
- Build and maintain a strong customer pipeline
- Manage and develop your own client base
- Up-sell and cross-sell services from the company’s catalogue
- Analyse market and customer information to identify sales opportunities
- Secure bill authorisations and customer approvals
- Handle customer objections professionally
- Convert conversations into qualified opportunities
- Keep customer information accurate, compliant and up to date
- Work closely with Senior Closing Specialists to progress leads
- Respond professionally to telephone and email enquiries
- Represent the business professionally
- Achieve and exceed agreed targets and KPIs
- Attend training, coaching and development sessions
Requirements
- Previous B2B telesales experience
- At least 6 months’ energy B2B telesales experience
- Previous lead generation, sales or customer engagement experience
- Energy or utilities industry experience is essential
- Experience working to targets and KPIs
- Confidence making outbound cold calls
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to persuade, influence and handle objections
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proactive and positive attitude
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Good IT and computer literacy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

About The Role
Consultiv Utilities Ltd is recruiting a Sales Lead Generator / Lead Generation Specialist for its office at Merchant Court in Hebburn.
The full-time position offers a salary of £26,000–£40,000 a year depending on experience, together with uncapped commission of up to 20%. The working week is Monday to Thursday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, with an early finish at 3:00pm on Fridays, or 1:00pm if the employee is on target or run rate.
The successful candidate will support business growth by prospecting for new customers, engaging with potential business clients and creating qualified leads for Senior Closing Specialists. The role involves building relationships, understanding customer needs and identifying opportunities across Consultiv Utilities’ service catalogue.
Responsibilities include outbound B2B calls, managing a personal client base, building a sales pipeline, identifying opportunities to up-sell and cross-sell services and converting conversations into qualified opportunities.
The successful applicant will also handle customer objections, secure bill authorisations and approvals, maintain accurate customer records and work closely with Senior Closing Specialists to ensure leads are progressed correctly.
Consultiv Utilities is looking for confident and target-driven sales professionals with previous B2B telesales experience. At least six months’ energy B2B telesales experience is required, along with experience working to targets and KPIs. Energy or utilities industry experience is stated as essential.
