Key Responsibilities
- Install EV charging points in domestic and commercial properties
- Carry out EV charger replacements and upgrades
- Conduct routine maintenance and testing of EV charging points
- Complete EICRs and undertake remedial work where required
- Fault-find, diagnose and repair electrical systems
- Complete certificates using the EasyCert PDA system
- Manage van stock and collect materials from local suppliers
- Travel to customer sites and work remotely
- Keep the Head Office team updated on completed jobs and required follow-ups
- Maintain the company vehicle in a clean, organised and presentable condition
- Diagnose and safely rectify electrical faults
- Complete site surveys
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification or equivalent
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
- 2391 Periodic Inspection and Testing qualification
- Proven experience installing and commissioning EV charging points
- Experience fault-finding and repairing EV chargers
- Full UK driving licence
- Clean DBS check
- Strong organisational and stock management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good time management
- Ability to work independently

About The Role
Crystal EV Charging is recruiting an experienced Electrician to join its expanding nationwide team, covering Darlington and surrounding areas.
The role involves installing, maintaining and repairing EV charging infrastructure across both domestic and commercial environments. The successful applicant will carry out EV charger installations, replacements and upgrades, routine testing, EICRs, remedial works, fault finding and electrical diagnostics.
The position is permanent and full-time, with 40 hours per week from 08:00–17:00. Employees work any five days out of seven, including weekends, with a lieu day of their choice.
The salary is £40,000–£50,000 per year depending on experience, plus a bonus incentive scheme. New employees can also receive a £250 welcome bonus, with £100 paid after successfully completing three months and a further £150 after successfully completing the six-month probationary period.
A company vehicle with fuel card, tools, equipment and stock is provided. The package also includes a pension, branded uniform, mobile phone, PDA system, overtime opportunities, training and development and a clear progression path.
Applicants must hold all three required electrical qualifications: NVQ Level 3 Electrical or equivalent, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and 2391 Periodic Inspection and Testing. Candidates are also required to have experience with EV charging installations and repairs, a full UK driving licence and a clean DBS check.
