Duration: Approximately 13.5–14 Months
Working Pattern: Five Days Out Of Seven, Including Some Evenings And Weekends
About The Role
Jesmond Dene House is seeking an experienced and personable Wedding And Events Sales Manager to oversee wedding and private event bookings at its distinctive independent venue in Newcastle.
You will manage client relationships from initial enquiries through to confirmed bookings and event delivery, balancing commercial performance with excellent customer service. The role also involves leading and coaching a team of three sales coordinators.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage wedding and private event enquiries from first contact through to booking.
- Conduct venue viewings and convert enquiries into confirmed bookings.
- Build strong relationships with couples and private event clients throughout the planning process.
- Coordinate weddings, private celebrations, corporate events and special occasions.
- Organise planning meetings and maintain accurate client records.
- Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure events are well coordinated.
- Manage deposits, payments, contracts and final billing.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue through upgrades, enhancements and bespoke packages.
- Support wedding showcases, open evenings and marketing initiatives.
- Lead and develop the sales coordination team.
- Ensure a smooth handover from event planning to operational delivery.
Requirements
The successful candidate should have:
- Strong experience managing sales in weddings, events, luxury hospitality or a similar client-focused environment.
- At least three years of events sales experience.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Commercial awareness and confidence discussing packages, budgets and additional services.
- The ability to manage multiple events and deadlines.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.
