- Previous barista experience preferred but not essential

About The Role
Mera Cafe is recruiting a Barista to join its team in Newcastle upon Tyne.
The successful candidate will prepare and serve a range of coffee beverages, teas and specialty drinks while providing friendly and welcoming customer service. The role also involves maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout food and beverage preparation.
During busy periods, the Barista will be expected to manage multiple orders efficiently, prioritise tasks and maintain good time management. Additional duties include assisting with food preparation, cleaning equipment, restocking supplies and keeping the work and dining areas clean.
The role also includes operating the cash register and handling customer payments accurately.
Previous barista experience is preferred but is not essential. Mera Cafe is looking for someone with enthusiasm for coffee, a positive attitude, good communication skills and the ability to work in a busy environment.
The position is available on either a part-time or full-time basis, with pay advertised at £12.71–£15.00 per hour.
