Key Responsibilities
- Carry out cleaning duties to a consistently high standard
- Support infection prevention and control measures
- Follow Health & Safety and COSHH procedures
- Complete routine cleaning tasks efficiently and effectively
- Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming healthcare environment
- Follow NHS Property Services policies, procedures and cleaning schedules
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an excellent service
Requirements
- Experience in cleaning, housekeeping or domestic services is welcome
- Hospitality or facilities services experience is also relevant
- Experience in care or healthcare environments is advantageous
- Customer-facing experience where maintaining high standards is important
- Reliable and dependable approach
- Commitment to delivering high standards
- Ability to follow procedures and work safely
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

About The Role
NHS Property Services is recruiting a Domestic Assistant/Cleaner at Stanhope Parade Health Centre in South Shields.
The position is offered on a three-month fixed-term contract and provides 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 09:00. The advertised rate is £12.92 per hour, equivalent to £25,272 per annum pro rata.
The successful applicant will help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming healthcare environment for patients, visitors and colleagues. Duties include routine cleaning, supporting infection prevention and control measures, and following NHS Property Services policies, procedures and cleaning schedules.
Applicants with experience in cleaning, housekeeping, domestic services, hospitality, facilities, care, healthcare or relevant customer-facing roles are welcomed. NHS Property Services offers 27 days’ annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, with the option to purchase additional leave.
