Northumberland County Council is recruiting a Virtual School Engagement Officer to join its Virtual School team based at County Hall, Morpeth, supporting the educational achievement of cared for children, care leavers and other vulnerable young people across the county.

The successful candidate will work closely with schools, social care teams, carers and young people to improve attendance, strengthen inclusion and promote positive educational outcomes. The role includes supporting schools to develop effective policies and practices, building strong partnerships with education and social care professionals, and providing line management responsibilities within the service.

Applicants should have experience working within education, children’s social care or a related field, together with a strong understanding of the barriers affecting educational engagement and a commitment to improving opportunities for disadvantaged children and young people.
