About the role
The school is seeking a motivated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to support lunchtime catering. You will work closely with the Cook in Charge and wider school team to prepare and serve meals, maintain high standards of cleanliness, and promote healthy eating in line with national nutritional standards.
Key duties
Food preparation and basic cooking, washing up and general kitchen duties, cleaning the kitchen, equipment and dining hall, setting up and clearing tables and chairs, serving food with correct portion control, supporting pupils to make balanced choices, following food hygiene and health and safety procedures, waste disposal, and supporting school health initiatives. You will also undertake training and follow all school policies including safeguarding, confidentiality and equal opportunities.
About you
You can manage time effectively, work independently and as part of a team, communicate well in different situations, and have an awareness of health and safety procedures. You are punctual, reliable, trustworthy and have high expectations of your own work.
