Station Taxis (Sunderland) Ltd is recruiting a Telephone Operator to join its head office team in Southwick. This role begins as a backshift position (16:00–21:00, five days out of seven on a flexible rota) with potential progression into a full-time role including night shifts.
Please note: This position does not include day shifts as part of the normal working pattern.
Role Purpose:
To provide an excellent booking service to customers, accurately processing taxi bookings while delivering a first-class customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and process customer bookings accurately
- Input booking data correctly into the system
- Advise customers on enquiries and resolve problems
- Use established scripts and procedures
- Escalate queries where required
- Support colleagues in achieving customer service targets
- Contribute to continuous improvement of service processes
Essential Skills & Requirements:
- Good computer and keyboard skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong knowledge of the Sunderland area
- Attention to detail and accurate data entry
- Ability to work to targets and company standards
- Previous taxi booking office experience preferred (full training provided)
- Immediate start availability
