JOB: Funeral Service Crew

Role Overview
- Part-time Funeral Service Crew role supporting funeral services and care of the deceased
- 15 hours per week (3 hours per day across 5 days) plus participation in an on-call rota
- No previous funeral industry experience required as full training is provided
- Compassionate role helping families during difficult times
Key Responsibilities
- Collect the deceased from hospitals, homes or other locations professionally and respectfully
- Drive funeral vehicles and assist during funeral services
- Bear coffins on the day of the funeral
- Prepare coffins and engrave nameplates
- Assist with preparation and personal care of the deceased for viewings and funerals
- Maintain vehicles, equipment and facilities to high standards
- Keep records updated using client management systems
- Safely lift and move coffins following health and safety procedures
Requirements
- Full UK manual driving licence
- Ability to carry out physical tasks such as lifting and carrying
- Good IT skills and ability to use devices such as computers, tablets and scanners
- Compassionate and calm approach in emotional situations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
