A 54-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and preventing a lawful burial after a man in his 60s was found dead in a flat in Southall, West London.
Emergency services were called to Monsted House on Samara Drive around 10:56am on Wednesday, April 23, following concerns for the man’s welfare. The body was discovered inside the flat, and police are treating the death as suspicious.
Detectives are working to locate the victim’s next of kin.
Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie said:
“We are in the very early stages of our investigation. My team of experienced detectives and forensic specialists are working at pace to establish the circumstances of this death.”
He added that residents should expect an increased police presence in the area as inquiries continue.
The arrested man remains in police custody.
