Man caught with drugs and weapons tells police £1,000 was from puppy sales

A Blyth man caught with drugs and weapons following a triple stabbing incident claimed the £1,000 cash he was carrying came from selling puppies.

Police were called to Stanley Street in Blyth in the early hours of November 3, 2024, after reports of three people being assaulted. Officers spotted 32-year-old Robert Falloon running from the scene and detained him.

He was found with cocaine worth £300, ketamine worth £200, over £1,000 in cash, a credit card knife, and a knuckle duster.

Falloon, of Bowes Court, was initially charged with wounding with intent but was later cleared when prosecutors offered no evidence. He admitted possession of Class A and B drugs with intent to supply, along with possession of a bladed article and offensive weapon.

He told the court the drugs were bought to share with friends, not to sell, and the cash came from legitimate puppy sales. He added that he kept large amounts of money on him due to a previous experience of being remanded in custody without funds.

Falloon was sentenced to 16 months in prison, suspended for two years. Recorder Bryan Cox KC warned that the courts take weapons and drug offences seriously.
