A video has been shared across Sunderland showing a violent confrontation with a man being glassed outside a city centre pub
The incident, believed to be yesterday evening, took place outside of the Cooper Rose. The video, which is too graphic to be shared, shows a shirtless man getting into a confrontation with another, before forcibly holding him into a headlock and smashing a glass bottle over his head and face.
The attacker then walked away as others intervened, leaving his victim covered in blood.
Another photo was sent in showing the same individual a few hours before the incident, along with the same people he had been accompanying at the time.
Security guard sources believe that the individual responsible is a known criminal with a history of shoplifting, and was detained up until recently.
SGM will contact Northumbria police for more information.
