Popular cafe Grinder Coffee is set to move home to a new larger venue next week.
Grinder, based on the New Durham Road outside the city centre, announced in September that it had outgrown its original base, which transformed the former Ironing Basket shop, near to Royal Courts in 2019.
They subsequently announced they would be seeking to relocate to a larger venue, relocating just round the corner next to the back lane having converted the former Tots and Dots play cafe.
Now they are set to open their doors complete with an enlarged menu next week on October 29th.
People won’t be without their beloved coffee for long as the original Grinder won’t close until 1pm on Monday, October 28, making a gap of only a day.
While the original site had limited seating due to the size, the new Grinder will comfortably seat 15 and will also continue to operate for takeout as well as sit in.
It’s also an accessible space, with its own toilet, something they couldn’t offer at the original site.
