Newcastle Airport has unveiled plans to build a major electric vehicle charging station and a drive-thru coffee shop at Callerton Parkway. The ultra-rapid EV hub, developed with Fastned, will include 12 charging bays powered entirely by renewable energy.
Capable of delivering up to 300 miles of charge in 20 minutes, it will be the largest EV charging site in Newcastle. The move supports the airport’s aim to hit Net Zero Carbon status by 2035.
Construction is expected to start later this year.
