NEWS: Robert of Newminster School issues statement to reassure parents after headmaster pleads guilty to making indecent AI images

A school trust has moved to reassure parents after a former Washington headteacher admitted making indecent AI-generated images of children.

Dean Juric, who was head at St Robert of Newminster Catholic School and Sixth Form College, pleaded guilty to creating and distributing “pseudo” indecent images. The Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust said Juric was suspended immediately after they became aware of the investigation and is no longer employed by the school or Trust.

In a statement, they said: “Our priority is to ensure all pupils and families feel safe, supported, and informed. Support is being provided to the school community.”

There is no suggestion that any of the children in the images were pupils at the school or resembled any child connected to it. Juric will be sentenced at Newcastle Crown Court on December 22.
