Clothing giant NEXT has announced 11 of its stores throughout the UK will close by the end of this year
The news comes amidst the continued deterioration of UK High Street Retail, with store chain Wilkinson’s having recently collapsed amidst a failure to secure a takeover.
The NEXT stores are closing amidst a failure to make ends meet, with some running at a loss and others failing to agree a new lease after landlords demanded an unacceptable increase in rent.
However, the chain has not yet revealed their locations.
Despite this, the continued domino collapse of British high street retail asks serious questions about the state of the economy and the cost of living.
