Oxford United VS Sunderland – Match Preview

Oxford United host Sunderland in a huge game with the two teams needing a win to keep their play off hopes alive.

The Black Cats’ sit in 7th place with Oxford in 8th and a win for either side could see them climb to 6th depending on the other results.

Sunderland have found their form again under Alex Neil as they are unbeaten in their last 7 games, whereas Oxford have found it difficult in recent weeks as they are without a win in their last 3 games with only 2 wins in their last 5.

The lads kept the pressure on the teams above them last week thanks to a 95th minute winner from Nathan Broadhead last time out.

United were on the end of a shock result which saw them fall to a defeat against League one strugglers Morcombe 2-1.

The Red and White army sold out their away allocation once again as the Mackems attempt to get behind their team in this crucial game of the season.

With just 6 games left in the season, many of the Sunderland fans are describing these games as ‘6 cup finals’ as it looks more and more likely that they may need a result in each of them games to ensure they secure that play off position.
