Police seize what is believed to be XL bully following fatal dog attack in Marley Potts

Police have seized a suspected XL Bully following a fatal dog attack in Marley Potts.

Officers are investigating reports that a dog sadly died after being attacked by an unmuzzled XL Bully-type dog in the Marley Pots area of Sunderland shortly before 9.30am on May 28. It is reported that the other dog was on a lead when it was attacked and sustained fatal injuries.

Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and Northumbria Police have seized the dog believed to be responsible for the attack.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Just before 9.30am on May 28, we received a report of a suspected XL Bully-type dog attacking another dog in Sunderland.

“It was reported that an unmuzzled dog attacked another dog on a lead in the Marley Pots area, causing fatal injuries.

“Officers have launched an investigation and have seized the dog believed to be responsible for the attack. Enquiries are ongoing.”
