Sunderland Global Media (SGM) is as of July 2025, one of Sunderland’s largest sites. Getting banned from the site as a result can have a negative impact on one’s ability to stay updated and is akin to social “banishment” in some sense.
As a result, many people who are banned often ask to be reinstated on the page, or in turn even if they publicly claim to dislike SGM, quickly become resentful at missing out.
Unlike other media organisations, SGM believes in second chances, reconciliation and believes it is important to reinstate people where possible because its ethos is that it is a service for everyone. This page provides a quick overview on how to make an appeal to be “unbanned.”
- For unban requests, please email contact@sunderlandglobalmedia.org
- In your email, do not be rude or abusive, but request politely be unblocked
- State your name or any relevant information
- Apologise for whatever offense you may have committed.
If this is done, there is a 95% chance you will be generally reinstated unless there are exceptional circumstances. This, however, can only happen for the following reasons:
- Acted in a way that is so unacceptable to SGM’s ownership that it is not in their interests, or the site in general, to reverse course.
- Unbanning will enable bad-faith behaviour that can reasonably believed to incur criminal and civil liabilities, and the perpetrator shows no interest in changing course.
