A woman, also understood to be a GP has been arrested by detectives probing a ‘suspected poisoning’ in Newcastle.
GP Thomas Kwan appeared in court yesterday charged with attempted murder. And now Northumbria Police has confirmed that a woman has also been held as part of the investigation.
The suspect, in her 30s, was questioned on suspicion of attempted murder before being released on bail.
Hong Kong-born Kwan, 52, of Brading Court in Ingleby Barwick, on Teesside, works at the Happy House Surgery on the Durham Road.
The offence is alleged to have taken place on January 24 at St Thomas Street in Newcastle city centre.
It is not known who the second GP is or where she works.
