Sunderland 2-1 Crystal Palace – Match Report

Sunderland get back to winning ways as they come back from behind, once again, to beat Crystal Palace at The Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats have equalled Ipswich’s record of 11 games unbeaten at home for a newly promoted side.

Goals from Enzo Le Fee and Brian Brobbey turned it around after Crystal Palace took the lead after 30 minutes with a goal following a scramble in the box from a corner.

Yeremy Pino got a vital touch on the ball the guide the ball into the top-right corner and past Robin Roefs.

It lasted just 3 minutes, though as Granit Xhaka opened up the Palace defense with a beautiful pass out wide to Nordi Mukiele, who drove forward down the right wing before pulling the ball back to Enzo Le Fee, who placed the ball into the corner with a brilliant first time strike.

The Black Cats came out in the 2nd half, and pinned Palace back from the off and pushed for the 2nd goal.

Trai Hume came close with a header that was saved by the ‘keeper, but their pressure finally prevail led in the 71st minute.

Noah Sadiki did unbelievably on the edge of the box to hold of the Palace defender, before finding Brian Brobbey, who managed to roll past the defender and score via the crossbar to give Sunderland all 3 points.

Sunderland had 2 huge opportunities to make it 3-1, but Dean Henderson made some brilliant saves, first from Hume, who was picked out by Brian Brobbey, but his effort was saved onto the bar, and Eliezer Mayenda’s effort from 12-yards out was well saved towards the end of the match.

Sunderland move up to 8th and within 3 points of the top 4 in The Premier League, whilst Crystal Palace drop to 14th, as their winless run continues.

Le Fee was absolutely brilliant today, he was everywhere!

He obviously got his goal, but his defensive work was also, top notch.
