Sunderland maintain their unbeaten home record this season, after coming back from 0-2 down to win 3-2 and move back up to 4th in the Premier League.
Bournemouth opened the scoring, after Evanilson’s initial shot came off the crossbar and Amine Adli was then waiting to tuck the ball home from close range.
They then made it 0-2 after just 15 minutes with Tyler Adams scoring from 47-yards out, as he lobbed Robin Roefs.
Sunderland were given a lifeline on the half hour mark, as Reinildo was caught by Alex Scott, who was probably lucky not to receive a second yellow card, after an extremely late challenge on Granit Xhaka a few minutes before.
Enzo Le Fee stepped up and finished emphatically into the top corner to start the fight back.
Then, it took less than a minute after the break for Sunderland to get back on level terms, as Bertrand Traore scored his first goal for the club, after a class ball from Xhaka to play him in, and he finished well into the near post.
The comeback was then complete after Brian Brobbey came off the bench to score for the 2nd home game in a row, this time to take all 3 points.
An Enzo Le Fee corner towards the near post was nodded in by Brian Brobbey.
The action didn’t stop there, Evanilson nearly responded instantly, but his goal was ruled out for offside.
Bournemouth also hit the crossbar with an absolute rocket of a strike by Marcus Tavernier, as they desperately looked for the equaliser.
Lewis Cook then received a red card for Bournemouth in the 96th minute for elbowing Reinildo in the face.
The Black Cats hung on and now sit in the Champions League places, at least until the Tottenham game tonight against Fulham, as Bornemouth drop to 9th.
MoTM – Reinildo
