Sunderland Guide: Roker Promenade

Sunderland Guide Home

Location: On Sunderland’s seafront, Marine Walk. Accessible by Pier View

The Roker Promenade is just one of the many things to see on Sunderland’s beautiful sea front, one of the crown jewels of the city. Having underwent considerable investment and regeneration over the past decade, the Roker Promenade offers a beautiful view, a wide range of excellent facilities and direct and convenient access onto the Pier and Roker beach. There are few better choices for a day out.

Also accessible from a longer walk route starting at Sunderland Marina and the River Wear, the Promenade provides a straight route northwards aligned with the beach, passing the pier and ends at the bottom of Roker Park. When the tide is out, it is possible to walk via the beach, around the cliffs into the neighbouring resort of Seaburn.

Nearby amenities: Fausto Coffee, Pier Fish & Chips, Six (Restaurant), Love Lily Tearoom, The Scullery Kitchen, Downeys Fish and Chips, Roker Amusements, Grannie Annies (Pub).
