Sunderland VS Norwich City – Match Preview & Prediction

Sunderland face arguably their biggest challenge this season as they host Norwich City at the Stadium of Light.

Despite Sunderland’s impressive start to the season, the mood within the Sunderland faithful has taken a huge hit after yesterday’s news that Alex Neil has agreed to take over Stoke City.

Neil was in charge of The Black Cats’ for 6 months and in that time he achieved promotion from League one, and has guided Sunderland to a brilliant start to their first season back in the Championship.

The Canaries’ have had an underwhelming start to the season, only winning 2 of their first 5 games.

Despite it being a poor start for Norwich, they have won their last 2 games in the league, so they could be on the up.

Sunderland will be weary of American international Josh Sargent who has scored 3 goals in his first 5 games this season.

Norwich finished last season rock bottom of the Premier League last season as they went straight back down.

The Black Cats’ new signing, Jewison Bennette could be involved in the squad after signing on Thursday.

The 18-year-old came from Costa Rican club Herediano, and he is also an international for his home nation, Costa Rica.

Sunderland’s front 2, Stewart and Simms, will be hoping to keep their form up on Saturday.

Ross Stewart kept his impressive start of the season going with another goal against Stoke City last week.

The striker scored 26 goals last season, and he will be hoping to get somewhere near that this season, in his first season in the championship.

Score – Sunderland 2-2 Norwich.

Scorers – Ross Stewart and Lynden Gooch.
