Sunderland VS Rotherham – Match Preview & Prediction

Preview
Sunderland host an Unbeaten Rotherham side at the Stadium of Light as Tony Mowbray takes charge of The Back Cats’ for the first time.
Mowbray signed a 2 year contract yesterday and took charge of the final training session before this fixture.
Last time out Sunderland were beaten 0-1 by Norwich on Saturday thanks to a goal by Josh Sargent.
The Black Cats’ actually gave a very decent account of themselves in that defeat as the players have their all despite what was happening behind the scenes at the club.
Rotherham have started the season well, and they beat Birmingham last time out, 2-0 with both of the goals coming from Richard Wood.
United were promoted from Sky Bet League one last season with Sunderland, as they finished runners-up in the league.
The Millers’ will be hoping to stabilise themselves in the Championship this season, as they have failed to stay in the division in each of their last 3 attempts.
The Back Cats’ will need to try and keep Chiedozie Ogbene and Richard Wood quiet, as the pair have already scored 7 goals between them this season.
Mowbray will have a simliar set of players to choose from to what the backroom staff had for the Norwich game on Saturday.
Jewison Bennette has been training with the first team as he will be hoping to soon make his debut and Leon Dajaku remains in doubt.
Dan Ballard still out on the sidelines.
The Black Cats’ announced the signing of Édouard Michut from PSG on a season-long loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.
The new signing was completed too late for the 19-year-old to take part in today’s fixture.
Prediction
Sunderland 3-0 Rotherham
Scorers – Ross Stewart x2 and Ellis Simms.
