The Black Cats hope to push on from their impressive victory at Carrow Road on Sunday as they face, promotion chasing, Sheffield United at The Stadium of Light.

Last time out, Sunderland beat Norwich 0-1 away from home, thanks to a wonderful goal from Abdoullah Ba.

A win for Sheffield United is vital for them, as they hope to bounce back following a defeat against Luton at the weekend and pull away from Middlesbrough in third.

The Black Cats currently sit in 12th in the table, but a victory could see them reignite their play-off dreams and fly up into 7th depending on other results on the night.

Sheffield United have only won 2 of their last 5 games in the league, and their automatic promotion hopes look to be in the balance as an in form Middlesbrough side start to creep up on them, as they are now only 3 points behind.

The two sides met at Bramall Lane back in August, and Sunderland put in a very spirited performance after Dan Neil saw a red card after just 30 minutes.

The game ended 2-1 to United, but the Black Cats put everything into not making it easy for them.

Alex Pritchard is back in contention after missing the Norwich game, but Amad Diallo is set to miss the match with a hamstring strain.
