A new Sunderland online clothing, accessory and memorabilia store is set to open soon, using a popular local term as inspiration for its name.
“Topper” which is a Mackem adjective referring to something that is great or very good, is the name of the new shop which will seek to transform the word into a brand name.
The store will sell Sunderland themed clothing, accessories and other memorabilia in a bid to promote local culture and identity.
Unlike similar niche stores, Topper hopes to try and be more lenient with its prices and will focus on realistic affordability as opposed to seeking huge profit margins.
The store will open at Topper.org.uk when it is ready.
