Two Sunderland youths have been convicted of harassing and attempting to rob delivery drivers around Sunderland city centre one evening.
Jay Meade, who is 19 from Roker, and another youth who cannot be legally named due to being under 18, harassed the drivers in March this year.
They threw stones at one driver and attempted to force him to hand over his bike.
They continually rode around the city centre up and down streets, including Fawcett Street, looking for trouble.
They then threatened another driver using a weapon of sorts, which was not quite a knife but something similar such as an iron file. This driver also refused and escaped, but they chased him.
After the police was involved, the youths were identified.
Meade, 19, of Barbary Drive, Sunderland, pleaded guilty to common assault and attempted robbery. The court heard he is immature and left school without any qualifications.
He received a community order.
The order youth who is not named is set to be sentenced at a youth court.
