Two teenagers robbed at knifepoint in Hetton Lyons Country Park

Two teenage boys were robbed of their bikes at knifepoint at Hetton Lyons Country Park on Wednesday by three other youths, the family have revealed

The two boys, aged 14 and 15, were reportedly “jumped on” by three youths near the lakes, one who allegedly held a machete, and forced him to hand over his new electric bike. Physical violence, including kicking, was also exerted against them.

The pair are described as being “traumatised” by the event and police are involved. The public are being urged to be on the look out for any electric bikes around the Hetton area, and to contact the police if they have any information.
