Watford VS Sunderland – Match Preview

Preview

The Black Cats’ travel down to Vicarage Road, as they play Watford in what will most likely be a really tough game.

The Hornet’s were a Premier League club just last season, and they will be looking to bounce back at the first attempt.

Watford started the season really strongly, but they have recently fell off, only winning 1 of their last 5 league matches.

Sunderland have been in good form of late, but they were different class on Wednesday night.

The Black Cats’ beat Reading 3-0 away from home, with 3 beautifully worked goals.

Jack Clarke’s goal on Wednesday night has already been tipped for goal of the season, as it was a brilliantly worked team goal that started all the way from the ‘keeper.

Watford’s main threat at the moment, is Ismaila Sarr, but he is a doubt for this game.

Joao Pedro is also a major threat, as he had 4 goal contributions so far this season, the most out of any Watford player so far this season.

The Hornet’s currently sit 10th in the table, but with a win they could move up to 3rd, proving how wide open the league table is at the moment.

The Black Cats’ are lying in 6th place, but they could also move up to 3rd with a win, depending on other results.

Tony Mowbray is hopeful that Ellis Simms will be involved following his injury that forced him to be taken off on Wednesday night.

Bailey Wright will miss out due to personal reasons, and Dennis Cirkin isn’t quite ready to return yet.

Key Watford players, Ismaila Sarr and Kortney Hause will need late fitness tests as they are both suffering from minor ankle injuries.

Prediction

Score – Watford 2-3 Sunderland
