A woman claims to have photographed a ghostly face in a pub window in Morpeth while on a ghost tour of the Northumberland town.
The Beau Monde Pub in Morpeth dates back to the 1200s, and has become a popular destination associated with haunting.
The image in question appears to show a “face” in the panes of glass.
Cara Hamilton, a tour guide and performer on the Morpeth Ghost Tours, told the media the photo was genuine. She said she had been sent the photograph following a tour on Friday evening.
Cara said: “There were a lot of photos taken by a number of tourgoers of the upstairs windows of the Beau Monde pub in Morpeth, but only this one photo shows this image.
“Linda sees two images. I feel I can see something on the left hand side too, but it is nowhere near as clear as the bottom right hand side…”
A common explanation for “ghostly faces” in murky window panes is often the effect of light on translucent surfaces, often creating recognisable faces or patterns on stains and other patterns.
