An XL bully that was seized from a Pallion street by police was “left for dead” and in a severely neglected state, witnesses have alluded.
The female dog, which is now believed to be known as “Narla” is suspected to have been abandoned by its owner.
She was hairless, dirty and ridden with fleas and other health ailments. The owner of the dog is not publicly known or verfiable.
Narla has been taken to a rescue that is willing to accept XL Bullies, a breed which is now banned and severely regulated after numerous fatal attacks over the last few years.
However, the scope of the dog’s health problems, combined with the legal complications, means there is a risk that she may be put to sleep regardless, sources told SGM.
A fundraiser has since been set up in support of the dog to fund its vet fees.
