A young man has been caught on CCTV trying car doors around the Tunstall Road area in Ashbrooke.
The footage, shown to SGM, shows a young man clearly attempting to open a BMW on Ennerdale Road in the area.
His face, however, was not visible on the footage so he is unable to be identified.
Residents are advised to ensure all car doors are locked and no valuables are left inside.
